Relationship Between Personality Traits and Psychological Vulnerability: Mediating Role of Smartphone Social Network Usage

Background: According to the spread and popularity of social networks easy access them through smartphones, impact these networks’ long-term application consequences, including psychological vulnerability, could not be ignored. Objectives: The present study investigated mediating role using smartphone considering personality traits vulnerability. Methods: research population included all users (over 18 years age) in Isfahan, Iran, from which 250 individuals (i.e. 96 male 154 female subjects) were selected. method was descriptive causal-correlational. For data collection, short-form five-factor questionnaire neuroticism-extraversion-openness (NEO), media addiction questionnaire, a vulnerability used. Pearson correlation coefficient path analysis structural equation modeling employed analyze data. Results: findings revealed that among factors, neuroticism low extraversion explain use significant desirable way. Moreover, form causal-structural relationships. Conclusions: indicated relatively good fit measurement model. Accordingly, variable network usage plays relationship between some traits.
